last of the summer

I can hear the wind blowing down the chimney the sky was looking grey,  winter is just round the corner, and next week it is November where has the year gone.
Well just before all of that i was pottering around my garden yesterday i thought i would like to share the last summering flowers as soon the colours will all be gone.

These are the last of our roses, we have are own little rose patch some of them have some lovely scents, my husband always says they smell of turkish delight!

Sea Holly

This year we brought some Sea Hollies, 3 different sorts, 1 sort flowered and has now dies back, 1 has'nt really done anything and this one has just started. I do love the spiky pods they have before the colour comes out.

 snap dragon

Snap Dragons i always remember these from my parents garden.  The way that you gently squeeze them open used to facinate me.

I do hope these flowers have brightened up your day!!.........

to buy or not to but part 2

As you may be aware if you have been following my past few blogs, i have been wondering whether or not to get this piece of furniture i have had my eye on.
Well after much thinking of do i buy or dont i buy i decided YES!!
And as i promised i have a photo of my treasure.

I know that this isnt everybodies cup of tea but i just fell in love with it, i dont know why, it just jumped out at me and you know when you get that feeling you just have to to get it.
I bet every single one of you have brought something that you just fell in love with the first time you saw it, whether it is a piece of clothing, kitchenware, soft furnishings you get the idea.
Let me know what you have got when your eyes just couldnt tear you away from it!

Autumn Days

Autumn days dont you love them. The wind blowing, the colour of the trees, leaves rustling the list goes on.

Today me and my husband took a walk up to the woods that he wardens, and i thought i would share with all you lovely bloggers the photos that i took.

Dont you agree the leaves are just so fantastic at this time of year!!

You know today it has been so sunny and bright (forgive me if you have had rain today, but hopefully this will brighten up your day)
Although it has been sunny there was a couple of my photos that somehow look quiet grey in colour but i still like them, the colour just makes them more interesting to look at.

Tell me what you think!

I do hope you enjoyed my little blog today of my Autumn gallery of cheer!!!!!

to buy or not to buy!!

Since Saturday morning i have been going over shall i buy this item or not, shall i buy or not. Well i guess you are all wondering what iam talking about.
Saturday morning i had to go and bank a cheque for my father in law and as you do i done a little window shopping, popped into a few charity shops to see if they had that something special, but no luck so i came away empty handed. But just at the last moment, literaly as it was the last shop in the arcade, i noticed something.
It wasnt really the little finds you find this one was a little bigger, this item was a piece of furniture. This is a  store where people donate their unwanted furniture  which then goes to  charity who then  sells items on as a profit. So all in all it is still a charity shop but one that sells bigger items!!
Well they had this piece that i thought would go well with a piece of furniture that my husband had handed down from his grandad ( which is a dresser so you know) so today i took my husband in to see this piece and he agreed, it would match. I know my husband would never part with his piece of furniture and nothing new really matches so its the case that we would have to find something similar rather then have the mis match furniture we have.
So after lots of  discussions  we decided  to get it. Hopefully this week we will have a new piece of old furniture to replace a pine coffee table (which was abit orange for our liking) which just in case you were wondering we are going to donate to this store to sell on.
Once i have a picture i will post on here for you all to see x x

Better luck shall we say!!

Well today was the day where hopefully my luck has changed.
At last, my door key now works after going back into town to get it re done.
And also after waitng all day, (i mean 4.30pm they turned up) my new gas and electric meters are now set up and i have even got one of those gadget things that tell you how much electric and gas you have used and it has like a traffic light system to tell you when you are using too much, so great news i can now become even more eco friendly. Bring it on!

Oh and this goes to Poppy cottage;
Iam sending lots of cyber luck to your house, and i hope all is well!

Buffalo's

Buffalo's i hear you say, what in England now that cant be right.
Well in a quiet location in the fens there is a area which not a lot of people know about.
This area is so full of wildlife and wild flowers. As of yet i havent actually been there but my lucky husband goes there and volunteers his time in helping to look after some of the site.
Part of this was to look after the water buffalo and cows that they have, and i thought that i would like to share them with you all. So here they are..............

Here comes the boys!!
All the buffalo's are boys so there wont be any problems if you know what i mean.

And we must not forget the girls!!

Got to admit i thought the girls were lovely such a lovely colour!

Sometimes you can live in an area all of  life and you still dont know what is hiding just up the road.
