'coming of age me dear'

After having the last couple of weeks of appointments, yesterday we decided to take a break. We spent a lovely morning over at a National Trust property, Angelsey Abbey which is based near to Cambridge.
We havent been there for a few years now but i must say what a treat, everything has grown so much. Now i guess you are wondering why i prehaps choose the title coming of age me dear. Well because hubby cannot walk very far at all we decided to hire one of the Trusts  mobility scooters, which is all free of charge. Great news but we were limited to 2hrs which i must say really prehaps could of done with abit longer, but you know at least hubby could join me and the kids on a much needed break away from the house. Anyway i have took some pics, so why not let them show you around.

The house at Angelsey Abbey
The Winter Walk

The Water Mill

we saw this lovely family of swans altogether they had 7 signets with them which is fab because normally only a few survive...

Even the artists came out in force to work their brushes,  just maybe one day i can do this too, when i have the time....

Since we were last there, they have put in place a lovely woodland area where the kids can go and explore...

and of course here is a picture of my hubby on his mobility scooter, he even had the respect from the older generation as we passed by. I suppose they were surprised to see a younger man riding one.
A good day had by all, definatley a good release from our everyday routine...
Now all we have to do is wait till tommorrow as hubby has an appointment with the hospital consultant regarding his leg, hopefully everything will go ok.

aarrggghhh!!!!

Oh my god, where have they gone. I have just logged into my tesco's email account and ALL, i mean ALL of my messages have gone, all that i have sent, received and even all of my contacts. I do hope that its just a clinch on tesco's part and that all will be sorted out soon, but i have this horrible feeling that they are all gone forever.
If anyone else out there has the same problem please do let me know and settle my mind abit.
Any way today my daughter has a friend round and they are having a sleep over. As it has been so nice today we thought that it would be great to get one of our tents out, yes one of four, we havent chucked out any since we first started to date. So we have the four man one out and im sure they are going to have lots of fun.
I really do wish hubby was up and about so we could do the same as a family but he would never get back on his feet, let a lone him getting on the floor in the first place.
Nevermind i say next year we will make up for it, anyway hubby is slowy starting to move around so we have to keep positive. I really cant believe that its already 9 months, i really cant see where the time has gone and for both of us still staying postive, well how do we do it.
Lately i have been abit busy making some things for this summer stall so i shall have to post some bits on here for you all to see, please dont expect too much as im not an expert but i have enjoyed making them, so keep your eyes peeled. x x

egg citing new delivery!

Well the holidays have started off well.
Cameron has now finished primary school, so he is starting secondary school in september. Big steps for all of us, for him its a new school, new friends etc for the parents its another child that has left primary school and you can now start to feel your age, i mean it doesnt seem like 5 mins since me and my hubby went to the same school, but now its been 25 years since then. How things can seem so fresh in your mind. Anyway im sure Cameron will have lots of fun but it just reminds me that i have to let go a bit more often....

Yes as the title says i literally had a egg citing delivery.....
Mable my brown hen has become broody this last 2 weeks, spending all day sitting on her nest box, not moving to far at all.  So after speaking to my dearest friend over at scented sweetpeas, she and her husband payed me a little visit. Down they came on their tandem..with a special delivery of 6 freshly laided hopefully fertile eggs... so hopefully around about the 21st of August we may have some little fuffy chicks, oh i cant wait i feel like an expected mum all over again.

Also the timing couldnt be much better as it will be Camerons 11th birthday on the 21st so hopefully a lovely present, we shall have to wait and see.

We all had a good day out the other saturday, as there was a family fun day/bug hunt at our local nature reserve. Lots of bugs and butterflies  were found, even this strange little fellow below......

its amazing how much fun can be had in a plastic tube...

one find was this horrid looking fellow...

Bear was joined by his friends Esme and James, Cameron had his friends Ethan and Oliver and Beth had fun with Ethan and Esme's sister Imogen. It was so nice just to have all friends together including all the parents and just relaxing and having fun.

Before i go i must say pop over and see the lovely lady at country rose as she is holding a lovely giveaway. I have had trouble getting the link but if you look at blueberry fields blog she has a link.

Anyway i hope you have all had some fun days x x x now i look forward in seeing what you have all been up to xxx

birthday celebrations

                 HAPPY   BIRTHDAY   BEAR
                               3 TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

Birthday celebrations here at bearsfootprints. Bear is 3 years old today, where has the time gone i dont know. Up at 6.30am and bed at 8pm, something tells me he might be abit tired tommorrow. He has had such a fun day, presents to open, shopping in newmarket, grandparents round in the afternoon then birthday tea and cake. Let me show you all a few pics.

Bear was so keen to undo his presents, he didnt really stop to get changed properly...

Of course Cameron was eager to help his brother to fix everything together...
After the excitment of all the presents, me and Bear decided to go into town shopping. We went into the charity shops where Bear picked out a few lovely books and i picked up some lovely curtains which now my daughter has taken a liking to. Then before home we went and got something to eat.

In the afternoon the grand parents came round.... I bet you are thinking my god shes still not got bear dressed, well i did but im in the middle of potty training which i must say Bear took us by surprise on Monday and was asking for the potty so hey what do you know this week so far he has done wonders. Today was the first day he has sat on it without me even prompting him so yippee by jo i think i have cracked it, well nearly. You know its taken numerous times to get him this far too many that i have lost count.

This year Beth challenged me to make Bear a DINOSAUR cake not brilliant i know but hey it was my first attempt, it can only get better...
So as you can see we have all had a fab day celebrating, i hope you have all had a good day too.

Gala Fun..

Hi, yes im back. Its been a while i know but since the day chewy got knocked down my mind hasnt really been in the mood to write anything. In general my mind really hasnt been able to do much apart from making sure the family is running, but hey now im back so let me catch you all up with what i have been up to.

Well this past weekend was Gala day, the sun was shining and everyone had a great day, well i say that but i managed to get hubby down and to be totally honest he really didnt want to be there, it was all abit too much, but the friends group for the village reserve was there having a stall so in a way he wanted to help out even though he was in a wheelchair and really not able to do much.

When we had finished for the day and i when i had got him back home within minutes of getting him back on his bed, he had fallen asleep. Bless him it really did knock him out. I have taken some photos so you can see some of the fun.

This is my daughters St Trillians walking float Beth 3rd in from the left..

This one is the swimming pool association float..

This one is the preschool float all about village life and what they wanted to be when the grow up. Bear didnt go on this one this year as he hasnt been at preschool for long and i didnt realyy know how he would be in me leaving him, he's been a little upset the last few times i have left him.

W.I float 'A Day At The Races'

One float that i didnt catch on the day but i helped abit with was the cubs float which was in the theme of 60 years of Dennis the Menace.

Also while trying to finish the cub float me, bear, mrs sweetpea and little sweetpea went strawberry picking. Quite handy having the float made at a strawberry farm!!

As you can tell you strawberries were very tasty....

Anyway i hope you have enjoyed catching up x x

As you can see  Bear had a good day.....

sad day....

Today is a sad day, at 6.45am Bear came in and woke me so he sat there with me until the alarm crowed at 7.10am. 5 minutes later i rose up, got out of bed and went to undo the curtains. Firstly i looked over and saw chewy playing with what i thought was a mouse or something, but this then turned into horror as i quickly realised that he had been hit by a car. My heart just went, the kids were all my room, what do i do. So quickly i got some clothes on and then checked on chewy out of the window and noticed that a neighbour from up the road had stopped. Quickly i got all the kids downstairs and just told them that i would be back in a minute and could they please keep an eye on Bear while i did so. By the time i got a blanket out of the cupboard and went outside, my neighbour had picked Chewy up and moved him to the side of the road, at this point i knew that he was no longer with us. I crossed the road and gently picked him up and took him home.
He had a massive head injury and there was no way he would of made it. All i kept thinking was you poor thing but kept reminding myself at least he didnt suffer too much.
As you can imagine the kids were distraught. Chewy was Beths cat and she just broke down, Cameron well he is a boy so he tried to keep things together but quietly he was very upset, Bear well he is too young to realise what has just happened.
Poor Beth she broke right down, very angry too for the speeding cars that goes past our house just dont slow down, but she still went too school walking past the place where Chewy had been knocked down was one of her hardest moments. Cameron well i drove him to school as he really didnt want to walk.
After Beth left but before Cameron went to school i had to put Chewy into his resting place as i didnt really want Bear seeing what i was going to do at least Cameron could keep an eye on him till i got back in. So now Chewy is resting in the rose bed next to his brother Charlie who we also lost last year due to the same cicumstances.

Chewy r.i.p you will be missed my little whirlwind x x

big week for hubby

Well this is a big week for hubby and me as hubby is going into hospital on Thursday to have the long awaited pain blocks put into his back and leg.
7 months its already been since he last walked properly on them. Its been a very hard time for him. He is very nervous bless him, which i cant blame him as i didnt even want an eperdural when i had my three kids and luckerly i didnt need them as gas and air was enough. Its a big thing for him, will he be able to feel much after or are we going to have to go again for another set of needles. I do hope that it works 1st time because then he can crack on with the phsyio as even this has been put on hold as they feel they cant do anything.

Anyway also another highligted moment so far this week is that Saturday morning i had the element in the oven go, so quickly over to the electrical shop to get another one, just 5 mins before the shop was due to close, great i thought. Well once home i inserted the new element only to find that it didnt fit properly and that i would now have to wait till monday till be able to get anything done, great i thought a whole weekend with no oven.
Well Monday came along and i phoned them up at 8am to be told that they will now have to order a new element and it will be delivered on Tuesday.
HEY guess what i picked up the new element this afternoon, fitted it and now i have a fully funtional oven once again. You know they do say its the little things that keep you happy.

Anyway i guess i had better go now as i have to do the motherly thing of picking my tribe up from various clubs, so enjoy your night whatever you might be doing xx
