boy what a day

like the title says boy what a day i have had. Its not that i have had a really busy day just an emotional day.
The last few days i guess everything has just got on top of me. Iam trying to do too much, most proberly what else can i do i have a hubby who can not walk, a son who we have decided to potty train, two older children who sometimes squabbles but as a whole are normally really good and helpful. im running around all the time doing things you know the ones that must be done shopping, washing, cleaning looking after the kids and hubby and anything else that pops up along the way. Somedays it doesnt matter how positive you are when you wake up somedays it just all goes to pot.
So to cheer myself up, some chocolate came out of the cupboard and i just stopped, deep breathes and i slowed myself down. Bear had gone for a kip and it was quiet, i talked to my hubby and i soon started to feel more sain again. You know i dont blame my hubby at all for the position that we are in at the moment its not his fault and its not mine and one day in the future things will eventually return back to some sort of normallity, but until then you know the saying ' keep calm and carry on'.
After Bear awoke from his afternoon kip i also decided to walk down to the school to pick my other son up, since the accident i havent really been to  the school, so it was good to catch up with people, also i had some parsips and carrots from my veg plot to give to a friend so in all two jobs in one done.
Lets hope the next few days are calmer x x
ps thankyou Zoe for making me realise that i need to make more time for myself, the cross stitch might make a come back x x

oscars well almost a girl can dream!!

I feel like one lucky lady, this week i have been given 2, yes 2 awards. I mean how fab is that. I have to admit though one of these awards left a  little note. My dear friend at scented sweetpeas  nearly made me cry, she is just a lovely person that always put other people first and she always makes me laugh everytime we see each other. Mind we are so much alike in so many ways we other think the same, as they say two great minds do think alike.
As for emma bear forever, you must go and visit her as her blog is just a joy to read.
Anyway one thing that i have to do is to put 7 things on my blog that you prehaps dont know about me so here it goes.
  • 1.  one thing that is very close to my heart that iam willing to share with you all and that i dont really mention in my normal life away from blogland is that for a long time now my husband has suffered from a disabillitating illness called depression. It can be so hard for him  to get by every single day but he does and i have so much respect for him. He has lost alot of friends over the years which has been very hard on him. So one thing that we have decided to do is do another blog called The good the bad and the ugly, so we can both have a say on how depression affects our normal daily life.
  • 2.   i now have  a few more additions to the family which i havent mentioned yet, and these are 2 new little gerbils called toffee and fudge, and also two russian hamsters called britney and oh gosh ive forgotten the other ones name nevermind it will come back to me eventually, oh yes my daughter has just told me elenor. we were only going to get the gerbils but my daughter presuaded me to get the hamsters too. well what difference will two hamsters make.
  • 3.   When i was a little girl  i just loved to sit in the garden and make daisy chains.
  • 4.   I also remember once stapling my thumb, which was very silly i know but i still nearly fainted as i had to pull it out myself as no one else was home at that time.
  • 5.   I have only ever been abroad once, but im not too bothered as i enjoy camping in the united kingdom. You know im sure but there is so many beautiful places to see and do here so why go abroad.... anyway i like to try and be as green as possible in so many different ways so this is my bit.
  • 6.  I have a very very sweet tooth,  savoury not bothered about give me a slice of chocolate cake any day.
  • 7.   Back in 2008 we had a film crew come to our village, to film a film called wreckers. We had the delights of having claire foy who played little dorit or more recently upstairs and downstairs and benedict cumberbatch who played sherlock, and who was in the film atonement. Anyway the locals all  got asked if they wanted to be extras or if you were very lucky you even got asked if you could lend you house to the film crew. Well my in laws had their house taken over by the film crew for a couple of days and even had their beloved cat mozart who sadly is not with us anymore as an extra in the film. The post office, one of our 3 pubs, the social centre, the priory all become used. At the moment we are still waiting for the filmed to be released but im really looking forward to it. If you wanted to get a preveiw of what the film is going to like then have a look here http://www.likelystory.co.uk/ and click on wreckers.
Oh yes i now have to nominate 15 more blogs for this award so here it goes

one of my new years to do list

today i had a morning to do whatever i wanted which was very nice, as bear was having a morning with nain ( like the number nine), and i can hear you all say nain, well nain is the welsh for nana as hubbys parents are both welsh so its nice to keep abit of family tradition in there. Bear was going out with nain to the local village coffee morning where all the lovely ladies down there all fuss about him and feed him lots of biscuits and juice, so not spoilt at all!
Well my morning was completely different to bears, i decided to do one of my keepsakes for the new year, which one was to sort out my veg plots at the end of the garden. To be honest for the last 4 months it hasnt really been touched shameful i know, but at least today i have made a start. The 3 main plots are all cleared apart from the carrots and parsnips i have left, but the parsnips are the size of sugarbeet oops. We were planning to have them as lovely little sweet parsnips but with everything happening here im afraid they have been forgotten about.
As my hubby has just reminded me  the veg plot is ours, but as i have mentioned to him this year as he isnt able to get down there the veg plot is mine, all mine he he.
Any suggestions what  i should plant this year!!   Potatoes are a must, spring onions and radishes as these are just sooo easy to grow. carrots i always do as likewise they are easy to grow and very nice to munch on they help you see in the dark you know!
Last year i tryed sweetcorn but they took ages to shoot and the cobs were not very well established so they were not edible to us but the chickens enjoyed them.
I was thinking about sprouts too but that never happened.
In the greenhouse iam going to hopefully grow cucumbers again the drawf ones were lovely last year, oh and peppers i would love to try again .
One little plot which i have yet to clear is going to be saved for the strawberries that i have planted near the house. Last year i had no idea  they would spread as much as what they have, so they need a bit more space to grow and this year i must remember netting as the naughty little blackbirds kept picking them and not leaving any for us!

Oh another job that needs to be done that i wasnt expecting to do and that is to refelt part of our shed roof as the wind has taken some away to oz.
You know i really enjoyed being outside today turning the soil on our beds, hearing the birds singing  was just a joy, but you know tommorrow i know that iam going to be feeling it as my lower back is already letting me know that i have done something different today.

hair today, gone tommorrow

gosh my little girl is not so little anymore.
Beth had her hair cut yesterday, its amazing seeing how much its changed her. She kept looking at me while in the hairdressers saying 'i like it mum i like it' .

She had quiet abit taken off about 4 inches in total, but she has now go lots of layers put in so at the front it looks even shorter.

i truly dont know where all the years have gone, but we have to go with the times and we all have to let our children grow up.
This year she has a couple school trips one is on the 28th of January to canterbury to learn about Chaucer's canterbury tales, so that should be a fun trip as they will be going on different journeys around canterbury city . Then on the 1st July she has a day trip to France so she has a bit to look forward to.
Just the one thing though i still need to send the photos off for her passport! Who knows how long it will take to get her passport through.

bear, bear, bear.

Bear oh he has made me laugh these last few days.
He has this thing at the moment where he has gone round different people trying to sniff at them, sounds strange i know but the look on his face is just so funny, he had me and his dad in stitches his brother his sister his grandpa, and i swear the more we laugh the more he does it. Then he decided that he would then do the licking thing where he would go up to everyone and try and lick them oh and then the bitting thing im sure that he thinks that he is a dinosaur. He is just so funny none of it is nasty, just pure fun.
Kids they are just so fun to be around and they definatley brightned up my day.
Tell me something that has brightened up your day this week x
And ps do have some fun too!!

oh i nearly forgot i just come across this blog and i said i would mention her ist giveaway
so here it is......

2011

Oh my its nearly here. 2011 is only 2hrs away, where has 2010 gone.
You know i keep thinking what things am i going to do different in 2011. Well i suppose one is for hubby not to go anywhere near fences again he he!
No for me its is the simple things
1. Learn how to sew with my NEW SEWING MACHINE that i got from santa.
2. To be more crafty to make more things rather than buy them.
3. To take back control of our garden as since hubby decided to erm break his leg it has gone abit to pot. It needs so much work...
4. Also to regain my veggie patch as like above it has gone to pot.
5. Buy and support local shops.
6. De clutter the house of all the things that really dont belong, all things in a home should be loved.
7. Continue to recycle waste and reduce the waste that cant be recycled.
8. Finish all those unfinished jobs that still need to be done.
9. I would love to learn a craft, glass blowing, pottery, crochet, knitting etc.
10. To find out who iam and what my  likes and dislikes are, i dont know about you guys but we as mums tend to do so much that we forget who we are as people, everyone knows us as someones mum etc i need to take time out abit more and find what  i really like .

It makes you think, we are so busy running around cooking dinners, dealing with the children, hubby's, animals, work, food shopping you know the routine i need say no more that we forget who we really are, there is no time normally to think as im programmed to just get on with things.
In a way having started this blog in september has made me think of the things i would like to acheive or just try.  There are so many of you out there in blogland that make, draw, or do such wonderful things that you have all been a true inspiration to me, so THANKYOU.
So i hope you all have a truly wonderful 2011. x x x x x

gone in a flash

Well didnt that all go by in a flash. Christmas has passed and the new year is coming, i have to admit though i cant wait for the new year to start as these last couple of months have been enough to last all year and i know i still have a long way to go before things are back to normal but at least things keep improving. Anyway with all the xmas stuff thats been happening i havent showed you guys what cast my hubby now has......

Yes RED we thought it would be very festive and that it would match his toe cosy!!
i will have to apologise if you are abit sqirmish about his leg. i keep calling him my own little Frankenstien minus the bolts.
Bear has had a great time, you should have seen his dear little face when he realised that santa had been and that he had eaten the mince pie that we had left out, and you know i have never seen anyone so eager to open their presents before either. The other two were abit more calmer but then they are about 8 years older.

As you can imagine you couldnt see the floor afterwards, but al least fun was had. The rest of the day was filled with playing, entertaining family, eating, drinking and just enjoying the day.
So i hope you all had a fab xmas and lets all just look forward to what 2011 can bring!!
