big day for my little boy

As you know schools back this week and my not so little boy is starting secondary school tommorrow. I really dont know where the time has gone. Beth will be in yr8, Cameron starting yr7 and Bear will be going back to preschool to do all afternoons apart from the mondays. So all change, things wont be as they were, before i know it they will all be left school and starting their own little families, STOP just hang on, deep breath i still have a few years yet even though Beth is going on 18.

Talking about getting older. Flo is now 2 weeks old and growing well, you want to see....

You cant quiet see it from this photo, but flo has some little white flight feathers coming through...

Breakfast anyone?

What else have i been up to well, i went to carboot sell on the bank hol monday and picked up a few things, 1 being a pin board and i had great plans for my 40p buy, i made this....

Ive seen so many of these around and what a great idea but i really didnt want to pay for one when i think i can do one myself, so here it is and the first thing to go on is a postcard from a very dear friend who we only see about once a year because he lives in china. This postcard though has come from Australia when he visited there a few weeks back... for me i can only just dream of going, maybe one day it may become a reality...
Not bad for a first attempt prehaps the ribbon could be alittle straighter but hey i have space for little things and big things...so nice to have something different up.

Another thing which has happened lately is that finally we have a fence put all the way down the garden, we just have to finish the end bit but that can wait a little longer..
23 fence panels it took, yes really wasnt cheap but i will let you all into a little secret. Really i done well because where fence panels would cost about £20.00 a panel mine only cost £10.00 a panel from a lovely little place down the road that deals in seconds ( hand me down wood supplies that big companies no longer need etc)
So all in all i have got my fence for half the cost..

hopefully after saving a few more pennies we would like to get some 6ft x 1ft trellis to go onto the top hence why we havent had the posts cut down.
I have to apologise a little though for the messy state of me beds believe it or not there is some potatoes still in the middle plot and a few parsnips and carrots in the other ones. If hubby was up and about the beds would look so much better as there would be more time to keep them..i just have to look forward in having to cut back all of the long grass so it can all re seed itself, but i must say its going to be a BIG job... anyway what have all of you been up to i shall go now and find out... see you all soon x x

All done!

well i have survived the weekend. My 1st proper stall done. I managed to sell, 1 crochet cat, 1 crochet sheep, some lavenders bags, 2 needle cases and 1 needle case to order oh and a dozen and a half of eggs. Not too bad as considering i thought i might not sell anything. In total i know its not an enormous amount, i made just about £30.00. I still have the reserved needle case and one doorstop to add so in  total it will be more £40.00, all in all im very pleased. Thankyou again for all you lovely comments and support.

can i borrow some thoughts?

If it is possible i  would like to have some of your thoughts.
Tommorrow is the day that i have a stall to sell hopefully some pieces that i have made.
I have to say sorry as i have already set up the stall and i have forgotten to take some pics for you to see, but i will take some tommorrow.
So back to your thoughts, while i was setting things up i realised that this event isnt going to be as big as an affair as i first thought, i  mean i thought more people were going to be having stalls but it seems like it is just the local church that have organised a few local people to make things eg jams, patchwork items, toys, books etc.  Anyway while i was having a quick look, i noticed that some of the patchwork items were priced. There was a bag at £7.50, quite large pin cushions for £2.00 and some patchwork cushions for £6.00.
Now i know there has been alot of you that has had trouble pricing your items when you come to sell them. I had already sorted out a price list, but then my mother in law spoke to me ( she is one of the church ladies) as she wanted to ask what prices i was thinking of putting onto my things, when i told her she mentioned that i shouldnt price my items too high. I replyed that fair enough i realise that prehaps some of the people that wil be going will not expect to pay a higher price than what they are used to but if i didnt sell my things that i would keep hold of them and try on a stall near to xmas, prehaps at the primary school..
Now after this discussion i started to feel like that i have priced things too high, but i have been looking around in shops etc and i dont think that im too far off,

examples my cushions i was going to sell for £10.00 with the inner of £7.50 without,
my rabbits i was thinking of £5.50, doorstops £8.00 with rice inside,
pin cushions £2.00, lavender bags small 50p med £1.00 and Larger £2.50
                 you get the idea.......
so do you think they are too high are do i hold my ground and if i dont sell much then to try again at xmas, please  i would like your thoughts. You know i felt abit like i was letting the ladies down because i have priced differently. I wondered whether it is because they are out of sinc and not relating to what the prices are now, or whether prehaps they want to keep the prices low so they can get some funds. Dont get me wrong they are lovely people and the last thing i want to do is to put anyones nose out of joint.

So please do try and help me tonight.....i would value your imput.... THANKYOU.....

Flo, our new little friend..

Well if you dont know from my last post, we have a new friend 'Flo the chick'.
Mabel has been such a good mummy, tucking her under making sure she's warm enough.
Flo has now started eating chick crumb and she's walking around the hen house so sweetly exploring everything.
Now last time i showed you all a picture Flo wasnt really looking her best, looking abit like she had just got out of bed. Her feathers were still alittle damp and she wasnt really on her feet, so now i have some more pictures to show you....

Flo still with her bed feathers...

fluffy flo....

Flo having a cuddle..

Bear and Flo..
Bear was so gentle when holding her, but look at her she is so sweet ...x
I do hope you have enjoyed looking at her....

ohh look what i have to show you....

Like expected parents we have been waiting patiently for our new arrivals, and today is the day that one has showed its cute little face, want to see.............

Well here it is.......

First we had a crack..., then a few hours later we had..

this, a mean i know prehaps it doesnt look so pretty yet but just wait and see it when it eventually fluffs up...
Ive been so excited all morning at work since we noticed the crack at 6.30am. Must admit though its been worth the wait...
Cameron has had double the joys as it is also his 11th birthday. So as well as his presents he also has a baby chick too. All we have to do now is think of a name but i think this will have to wait until we see its character abit and what colour etc it is... so for now iam going to leave you until i have some more pics....

'coming of age me dear'

After having the last couple of weeks of appointments, yesterday we decided to take a break. We spent a lovely morning over at a National Trust property, Angelsey Abbey which is based near to Cambridge.
We havent been there for a few years now but i must say what a treat, everything has grown so much. Now i guess you are wondering why i prehaps choose the title coming of age me dear. Well because hubby cannot walk very far at all we decided to hire one of the Trusts  mobility scooters, which is all free of charge. Great news but we were limited to 2hrs which i must say really prehaps could of done with abit longer, but you know at least hubby could join me and the kids on a much needed break away from the house. Anyway i have took some pics, so why not let them show you around.

The house at Angelsey Abbey
The Winter Walk

The Water Mill

we saw this lovely family of swans altogether they had 7 signets with them which is fab because normally only a few survive...

Even the artists came out in force to work their brushes,  just maybe one day i can do this too, when i have the time....

Since we were last there, they have put in place a lovely woodland area where the kids can go and explore...

and of course here is a picture of my hubby on his mobility scooter, he even had the respect from the older generation as we passed by. I suppose they were surprised to see a younger man riding one.
A good day had by all, definatley a good release from our everyday routine...
Now all we have to do is wait till tommorrow as hubby has an appointment with the hospital consultant regarding his leg, hopefully everything will go ok.
